Special Occasion Tree Planting Program

Model Girl 1

Many people look for a different way to mark special family occasions. Birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, weddings and recovery from illness are all great occasions to celebrate with the planting of one or more trees in the community. People with a liking for the outdoors, people with children and grandchildren and people in community life tend to really appreciate a gift of planted trees.

Planting a tree is a very special and meaningful way to express your love, gratitude and happiness to know or share your life with someone special.

The knowledge that a new young native-Canadian tree is being planted in honour of their special situation is often very moving for the recipient. And to know that their tree will gradually take its place in a natural forest and provide life-sustaining benefits for the people of Eastern Ontario and do it all for up to 80 years can be very significant indeed.

We plant and tend combinations of white cedar, white pine, red oak and sugar maple — all strong, long-lived native species that thrive in the local Rideau Valley landscape.
